Mozilla Hackjam With NSUFSA, NSUWF & NSUEC
“Hackjam With NSUFSA, NSUWF & NSUEC” held on 31st January, 2014 at North South University. We, the NSU Firefox Student Ambassadors were planning for this event for a month. It was a joint program with technology club NSU Wireless Forum and NSU English Club of our university.
It was a freezing cold morning. I couldn’t easily wake up from the bed. So, I was a bit late. All the other FSA’s started to arrange the laptops,internet connections and other important things from 9am.
The event started at 10am. All the attendees seemed very excited. Most of them didn’t have much idea about it. At first,
NSUFSA member Rashik Ishrak Nahian welcomed everyone and started talking. He showed us the 10 ways to contribute to Mozilla.

Then Tanha Islam started to talk about Mozilla. She told us about the FirefoxStudent Ambassador Program. She also described joining process, activities of FSA, international recognitions and benefits of becoming a student ambassador.

VP of NSU Wireless Forum and FSA, Kazi Rokib Ahmed started the Webmaker part. He taught us how we can create and remix webpages with Thimble. He also described HTML and CSS shortly. His make was awesome.

After that President of NSU Wireless Forum, Mursalin Kabir bro started teaching us X-Ray Goggles, another awesome tool by Mozilla. He taught everyone how they can easily edit the source code of any websites with this tool. He also talked about how web developers works with these codes.

Followed by him, our NSUFSA member and WoMoz Faria Mahjabin started her session with Popcorn Maker, an online multimedia tool by Mozilla. She described how to use it and what we can do with it.

After that, Towhidul Islam Roni bro started talking about Firefox OS. He showed everyone the difference between other mobile operating systems and Firefox OS. He taught us how to make apps for Firefox OS. He also introduced us to Gaia,Gecko and Gonk.

Then everyone had a hands on review of Firefox Developer preview phones.

Then all the attendees were divided into three little groups – Thimble, Popcorn and X-Ray Goggle groups. They were told to make something creative. Trisa Islam and Faria Mahjabin brought some yummy foods and soft drinks. They were distributed among the participants.

In the end, a MozQuiz was held. People who could answer the questions were awarded with awesome swags of Mozilla. They were very happy with it. The event was a great success.

In the end, a MozQuiz was held. People who could answer the questions were awarded with awesome swags of Mozilla. They were very happy with it. The event was a great success.
